Ingredients needed 🛒3 servings
- Fresh chicken 1 whole
- Water 2L
- Herbal jeonbok tea bag 1 piece
- Whole garlic 10 cloves
- Red dates 5 pieces
- Chicken stock 1 tablespoon
- Nureongji 2 cups
- Onion 1/2 head
- Chives half bunch
- Carrot a little
Recipe 🍳
- Trim excess fat from the chicken's tail end with scissors, then thoroughly rinse the internal organs under running water.
- Place the cleaned chicken, herbal jeonbok tea bag, whole garlic, and red dates into a pot with 2L of water.
- Add 1 tablespoon of chicken stock as a secret ingredient, cover the pot, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium and simmer until tender.
- Once the chicken is soft and the broth has become rich, remove the herbal tea bag.
- Add the prepared nureongji, sliced onion, sliced carrot, and chopped chives to the pot.
- Simmer gently until the nureongji softens and the vegetables are just cooked through, then serve.
- Clean and prepare the chicken, then place it in a pot.
- Add water, herbal tea bag, garlic, red dates, and 1 tablespoon of chicken stock; simmer until tender.
- Add nureongji and sliced vegetables, then simmer gently one more time.

- Remove all blood clots around the chicken’s tail and internal areas completely to prevent any off-flavors in the broth.
- Chicken stock enhances the natural savoriness of the chicken, allowing you to shorten cooking time while maintaining deep flavor.
