Ttukdak Hyung's Bulgogi Jumeokbap

A special jumeokbap made by mixing rice with bulgogi, washed aged kimchi, and gochujang seasoning, then pressing into a jumeokbap mold and baking in an air fryer until crispy.

Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings

  • 1 bowl of warm rice
  • 70g grilled beef bulgogi
  • 1 stalk of washed aged kimchi
  • 1/2 tablespoon gochujang
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Some sesame seeds
  • Some cooking oil (for coating the mold)

Recipe 🍳

  1. Finely chop the grilled beef bulgogi and the well-washed, squeezed-dry aged kimchi using scissors or a knife so they mix well into the jumeokbap.
  2. In a large bowl, place cold or warm rice, then add the chopped bulgogi and chopped aged kimchi.
  3. Add gochujang, sesame oil, and sesame seeds in the specified amounts, then mix evenly with a rice paddle to make a spicy bibimbap.
  4. Lightly coat the inside of a triangular jumeokbap mold with cooking oil to ensure the rice comes out smoothly.
  5. Fill the mold completely with the bibimbap, press firmly with the lid to shape it tightly, then remove.
  6. Place the firm jumeokbap on an air fryer rack and bake at 180°C for 10 minutes until the surface is crispy.

  3. Press the mixture into an oiled jumeokbap mold, then bake in an air fryer at 180°C for 10 minutes.

Cooking tips 💡

  • Press the rice firmly into the mold to prevent it from cracking or breaking apart from the hot air in the air fryer.
  • During air frying, the gochujang will slightly char, creating a savory, spicy nurungji texture.
  • For children, replace gochujang with a little soy sauce or oyster sauce for a nutritious snack.
