A hearty meat rice ball made by mixing rice with minced meat stir-fried in gochujang seasoning.

🙋 Recommended for

  • Those who want the heartiness of a meat dish in a single rice ball
  • Those looking for a menu that holds its shape well for picnics or lunch boxes

Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings

  • 2 instant rice bowls
  • 200g minced meat (pork or beef)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp gochujang
  • dried seaweed flakes as needed

Recipe 🍳

  1. Place 200g minced meat in a heated pan and start stir-frying.
  2. Season the meat with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp sesame oil, and 1 tbsp gochujang.
  3. Stir-fry over high heat for about 5 minutes until all moisture from the meat has completely evaporated.
  4. Put rice in a bowl and add an appropriate amount of the stir-fried meat.
  5. Mix well so the seasoning evenly coats the rice, then firmly shape into round balls so they don't fall apart.
  6. Lightly coat the surface with dried seaweed flakes to finish.
  1. Stir-fry minced meat with soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and gochujang.
  2. Stir-fry over high heat for about 5 minutes until all moisture evaporates.
  3. Mix rice with the stir-fried meat, shape firmly, and coat with dried seaweed flakes.

Cooking tips 💡

  • If there is any moisture left in the stir-fried meat, the rice balls won't hold together well and will become soggy, so be sure to stir-fry until completely dry.
  • For children who cannot handle spicy food at all, omit the gochujang and season only with soy sauce and sugar for a soy sauce bulgogi flavor.
