Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- shrimp (peeled and deveined) 15~20 pieces
- lettuce 1/4 head
- lemon 1/2
- starch flour 1 cup
- water 1/2 cup
- mayonnaise 3 tablespoons
- sugar 2 tablespoons
- heavy cream 1 tablespoon
- vinegar 1 tablespoon
Recipe 🍳
- Clean the shrimp by splitting the back and set aside. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and lay them on the bottom of the serving plate.
- Mix the cleaned shrimp with starch flour and water gradually, stirring until the batter coats the shrimp firmly.
- Heat oil to 170~180 degrees Celsius. Add the shrimp one at a time, letting them sit undisturbed for the first minute to prevent sticking or coating loss, then fry until crisp for 3~4 minutes.
- In a pan, combine 3 tablespoons mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 tablespoon heavy cream, 1 tablespoon vinegar, and juice from half a lemon. Stir well and heat gently.
- Once the sauce begins to bubble, reduce heat or turn off the flame, then quickly toss in the fried shrimp to coat evenly.
- Arrange the mayonnaise shrimp attractively over the bed of lettuce on the serving plate to finish.
- Coat the shrimp with a mixture of starch and water, then fry until crispy. Prepare the lettuce.
- In a pan, mix mayonnaise, sugar, heavy cream, vinegar, and lemon juice to make the sauce.
- Quickly toss the fried shrimp in the sauce and serve on top of the lettuce.
Cooking tips 💡
- After placing the shrimp in hot oil, avoid stirring for about 1 minute to prevent sticking or coating shedding.
- If heavy cream is unavailable, a small amount of milk can be used for a similar creamy texture; omitting it will result in a cleaner, lighter flavor.
- Instead of heating the sauce in a pan, you can mix all ingredients in a large bowl and simply toss the fried shrimp directly into the sauce.
