Recipe

Wash the rice thoroughly, and finely dice the onion, bacon, large green onion, and carrot for fried rice.
Spread the washed rice evenly on the bottom of the rice cooker inner pot, then scatter the diced onion, bacon, large green onion, and carrot on top.
Add the cooking oil, ketchup, oyster sauce, and water. Before pressing the cook button, stir everything gently with a rice paddle to distribute the seasonings evenly.
Place the inner pot in the rice cooker and start cooking on the regular white rice setting.
While the rice cooks, lightly oil a frying pan, add a pinch of seasoned salt to the beaten eggs, and cook a soft, thin egg crepe.
In a separate small pan, combine the water, tonkatsu sauce, ketchup, butter, and starch syrup. Stir over heat and bring to a boil to make a sweet-and-sour sauce.
When the rice is done, shape the ketchup fried rice onto a plate and carefully cover it with the prepared egg crepe.
Generously pour the boiled omeurice sauce over the top and finish with a light sprinkle of parsley powder.

Place diced bacon, vegetables, cooking oil, ketchup, oyster sauce, and water on top of the rice, stir gently before cooking, then cook on the white rice setting.
While the rice cooks, make a salted egg crepe in a pan, and simmer tonkatsu sauce, ketchup, and butter to make a special sauce.
Place the soft egg crepe over the finished ketchup rice, then pour the boiled sauce on top and sprinkle with parsley to finish.

Cooking tips

Before pressing the cook button, it is essential to stir the mixture gently so that the ketchup and oyster sauce are evenly distributed and not clumped between the rice grains.
If you prefer less of the strong sourness typical of ketchup, you can omit the ketchup during the cooking stage and instead increase the amount of the special sauce to serve alongside.
