Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • Plenty of chicken frying powder
  • A pinch of seasoned salt
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • Plenty of minced garlic
  • A little cooking oil
  • Soy sauce
  • Corn syrup
  • Sugar
  • Cooking wine
  • Vinegar
  • A little black sesame
  • Green onion
  • Cheongyang chili pepper
  • Red chili pepper

Recipe 🍳

  1. Season the chicken pieces with seasoned salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and chicken frying powder. Mix well and let it marinate for one hour.
  2. After one hour, when the powder has absorbed well, coat the surface once more with cooking oil and chicken frying powder.
  3. Place the chicken pieces without overlapping in an air fryer preheated to 190°C (374°F) and cook for 20 minutes.
  4. After 20 minutes, flip the chicken pieces and cook for another 20 minutes on the other side to make crispy fried chicken.
  5. In a pot, combine soy sauce, corn syrup, sugar, cooking wine, vinegar, minced garlic, black sesame, chopped green onion, Cheongyang chili pepper, and red chili pepper. Bring to a boil to make the sauce.
  6. Add the cooked chicken to the completed spicy soy sauce and toss well to coat evenly. Finish and serve.
  1. Marinate the chicken with seasonings and frying powder for 1 hour.
  2. Air fry at 190°C (374°F) for 20 minutes on each side until crispy.
  3. Toss the cooked chicken in the boiled soy sauce mixture until evenly coated.

Cooking tips 💡

  • Marinating the chicken for an hour allows the seasoning to penetrate deeply and helps the frying powder adhere, resulting in a crispier exterior.
  • Since air fryer performance may vary, check the cooking progress midway and adjust the time as needed.
  • Adding plenty of chili peppers effectively cuts through the greasiness and provides a clean, spicy flavor.
