- 1 cup chopped kimchi
- 5 tbsp gochugaru
- 2 tbsp gochujang

- 1-2 tbsp saeujeot
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp mirin (rice wine)
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/3 tbsp MSG
- A little black pepper
- 2 Cheongyang chili peppers
Recipe 🍳
- Slice the onion thinly and pat the tofu dry, then cut it into large pieces.
- Make the seasoning by mixing ground pork, chopped kimchi, gochugaru, gochujang, soy sauce, saeujeot, sugar, mirin, minced garlic, MSG, black pepper, and Cheongyang chili peppers.
- Generously grease a pot with cooking oil and spread the sliced onions on the bottom.
- Arrange the tofu pieces on top of the onions without overlapping, then spread the seasoning evenly over the tofu.
- Add 1 cup of water and simmer over low to medium heat for about 20 minutes.
- Add the green onion and simmer for another 5 minutes, then finish with toasted sesame seeds.
- Prepare the tofu and onion.
- Make the pork and kimchi seasoning.
- Layer the onion, tofu, and seasoning in a pot.
- Simmer until slightly saucy, then add green onion and sesame seeds.
Cooking tips 💡
- If the tofu is sliced too thinly, it will easily break apart while simmering.
- Laying onions at the bottom helps release moisture and prevents sticking.
