Trendy cup noodles fried rice infused with rich flavor from savory grilled oxtail and beef fat.

🙋 Recommended for

  • Those who want to enjoy the trendy cup noodle fried rice more elegantly with the rich flavor of beef fat.
  • Those who want to quickly cook oxtail as a grilled delicacy without long braising.

Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings

  • 5-6 slices of sliced oxtail
  • 1 small cup noodle (Shin Ramyun)
  • 1 bowl of instant rice
  • 1 egg
  • Salt, a pinch
  • Pepper, a pinch
  • Cooking oil, a drizzle
  • Garlic oil, a drizzle
  • Scallion, a sprinkle

Recipe 🍳

  1. Remove the noodles from the cup, place them in a plastic bag, crush them finely, and return them to the cup.
  2. Add the seasoning powder to the crushed noodles, pour cold water just enough to barely cover the noodles, and soak them in advance.
  3. Season the oxtail slices lightly with salt and pepper on both sides.
  4. Heat a pan until lightly smoking, add a small amount of cooking oil, place the oxtail slices, and grill quickly over high heat for about 30 seconds on each side. Set aside.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium on the pan with the rich beef fat from the oxtail, crack an egg into the pan, and scramble it by breaking it into small pieces until cooked.
  6. Once the egg is cooked, add the instant rice (do not heat it first) and stir-fry, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.
  7. When the rice and egg are evenly mixed, add the soaked cup noodles along with the liquid and stir-fry over high heat until all moisture evaporates and the rice becomes fluffy and dry.
  8. Press the fried rice firmly into the empty cup noodle container, then invert it onto a plate to shape it nicely. Arrange the grilled oxtail slices around the rice, drizzle with garlic oil, and sprinkle with scallions to finish.
  1. Crush the cup noodles, add the seasoning and a little water to barely cover, and soak.
  2. Quickly grill the seasoned oxtail slices over high heat on both sides and set aside.
  3. In the pan with the remaining beef fat, scramble an egg and add the instant rice, stir-frying.
  4. Add the soaked noodles and stir-fry until dry, then shape using the cup and serve with the meat.

Cooking tips 💡

  • Since the oxtail slices are thin, they should be grilled quickly over high heat to retain juices, ensuring a tender and chewy texture.
  • When making the fried rice, adding too much water to the cup noodles will make it soggy, so the key is to add just enough water to barely cover the noodles.
