  • Those who enjoy the harmony of gochujang-flavored fried rice, reminiscent of spicy bibimbap, paired with soft scrambled eggs.

Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 bowl cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang
  • seaweed flakes to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • chopped scallions to taste

Recipe 🍳

  1. Crack 3 eggs into a bowl, add a pinch of salt, and beat well.
  2. Generously coat a pan with cooking oil and preheat over high heat for at least 1 minute.
  3. Pour all the prepared egg mixture into the heated pan.
  4. When the edges of the egg immediately puff up, gently push from the outside toward the center to make soft scrambled eggs, then transfer to a separate plate.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, add 1 bowl of cooked rice, 1 tablespoon gochujang, seaweed flakes, and 1 tablespoon sesame oil to the pan.
  6. Stir-fry gently over low heat, making sure the seasoning evenly coats each grain of rice without clumping.
  7. Place the finished gochujang fried rice nicely in a bowl.
  8. Top the fried rice generously with the previously set aside fluffy and moist scrambled eggs.
  9. Finish by sprinkling chopped scallions on top for a nice presentation.
  1. Beat the eggs with salt, make soft scrambled eggs over high heat, and set aside.
  2. Reduce the pan heat to low, add rice, gochujang, seaweed flakes, and sesame oil, then gently stir-fry.
  3. Place the gochujang fried rice in a bowl, top with the scrambled eggs and scallions, and serve.

Cooking tips 💡

  • If eggshell pieces fall in while beating the eggs, use a spoon or another eggshell to easily scoop them out like a magnet.
  • Preheat the pan over high heat until it just starts to smoke so the egg mixture puffs up as soon as it touches the pan.
  • When stir-frying gochujang, if the heat is too high the seasoning can easily burn, so be sure to cook over low or gentle heat.
