Recipe

Add 1/2 cup tapioca pearls to boiling water and boil over medium heat for 5 minutes, then turn off the heat and let them steam for 5 minutes.
Drain the cooked pearls, mix with 1 tbsp sugar, and let cool at room temperature.
In a small bowl, combine 1 tsp matcha powder with a little milk and stir with a spoon until smooth and free of lumps.
In a blender, combine 1 cup milk, the dissolved matcha mixture, 2 tbsp condensed milk, and 2 cups crushed ice.
Blend until smooth and thick like a smoothie. If more sweetness is desired, add 1 tsp sugar.
Place the sugar-coated tapioca pearls in the bottom of a cup.
Pour the blended matcha drink over the pearls and top with whipped cream to taste.

Boil tapioca pearls, let them steam, then mix with sugar.
Dissolve matcha powder in milk, then blend with milk, condensed milk, and ice.
Place pearls in a serving glass, top with the matcha drink and whipped cream to finish.

Cooking tips

Adding matcha powder directly to the blender can cause lumps, so it's best to dissolve it first in a small amount of warm milk or water.
