Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings

  • Thick-cut bread (thickly sliced) 1 slice
  • Eggs 2
  • Milk 3 tbsp
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Butter, as needed
  • Powdered sugar, a little
  • Plain yogurt, as needed
  • Carrot stir-fry, a little (optional)

Recipe 🍳

  1. Crack 2 eggs into a bowl, add 3 tbsp of milk and 1 tbsp of sugar, and mix well until the sugar dissolves to make the egg mixture.
  2. Cut the bread into very thick slices, about 3 times the thickness of regular bread.
  3. Melt a generous amount of flavorful butter in a pan preheated over low heat.
  4. Dip the prepared bread into the egg mixture, pressing gently to ensure the egg mixture soaks deep into the bread, flipping both sides.
  5. Brush any remaining egg mixture evenly over the surface and sides of the bread, then place it in the buttered pan to start grilling.
  6. Tilt the pan in all directions to allow the butter to evenly coat the bottom and sides of the bread as it grills to a golden brown.
  7. Once the surface is golden brown and crispy, turn off the heat and transfer the toast to a plate.
  8. Evenly sprinkle powdered sugar over the toast using a sieve, like falling snow, and finish by adding plain yogurt and sweet carrot stir-fry to your liking.
  1. Make an egg mixture by combining eggs, milk, and sugar, and cut the bread very thickly.
  2. Grill the egg-soaked bread on all sides until golden brown in a low-heat pan with butter.
  3. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and finish with yogurt for a sweet and sour taste.

Cooking tips 💡

  • The flavor of French toast is determined by the butter, so it's best to use high-quality butter with good flavor.
  • Because the bread is thick, don't grill it immediately after dipping it in the egg mixture. Let it sit and press it down to allow the egg mixture to fully absorb into the bread, making the inside moist like pudding.
  • Adding tangy plain yogurt to the sweet toast helps cut through the richness, allowing you to enjoy it until the end.
