Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings

  • chicken 300g
  • milk as needed
  • green onion 2 stalks
  • salt a pinch
  • pepper a pinch
  • oyster sauce 3 tablespoons
  • soy sauce 3 tablespoons
  • mirin 3 tablespoons
  • corn syrup 2 tablespoons

Recipe 🍳

  1. Soak the chicken in milk to remove any off-flavors, then rinse thoroughly under cold water.
  2. Cut the chicken and green onions into similar bite-sized pieces.
  3. Alternate threading the chicken and green onions onto skewers.
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper evenly on both sides and gently rub to season.
  5. In a bowl, mix oyster sauce, soy sauce, mirin, and corn syrup according to measurements to make the sauce.
  6. Place the skewers on a heated pan, pour the prepared sauce over them, and grill, turning frequently, until the sauce reduces and the chicken is nicely charred on the outside while remaining tender inside.
  1. Marinate chicken in milk to remove odor, then rinse well.
  2. Cut chicken and green onion into bite-sized pieces and alternate thread onto skewers.
  3. Lightly season with salt and pepper.
  4. Mix oyster sauce, soy sauce, mirin, and corn syrup to make the marinade.
  5. Grill the skewers, adding sauce and cooking down until caramelized.

Cooking tips 💡

  • Cut the green onions and chicken to the same size so they cook evenly and maintain consistent contact with the pan.
  • Adding oyster sauce gives the dish a rich, deep flavor similar to store-bought teriyaki sauce.
