Cooking tips

  • When pounding the deodeok, hitting too hard can tear the fibers, so start from the top and gently press and push with controlled force.
  • Since the gochujang seasoning can burn easily, it's best to first grill the deodeok in the soy-sesame oil marinade until cooked, then apply the seasoning and grill lightly.
  • Adding a little olive oil to the soy-sesame oil marinade prevents the sesame oil flavor from becoming overpowering and creates a clean, nutty harmony.

Recommended for

  • Those who want to make authentic, fragrant grilled deodeok at home without bitterness.
  • Those looking for an elegant Korean side dish suitable for entertaining guests or holiday meals.
  • Those curious about the know-how for grilling seasoned dishes that stay moist without burning.
