Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- bread 2 slices
- cauliflower 200g
- green onion 2 stalks
- onion 1/2
- garlic 4 cloves
- olive oil 5 tablespoons
- plain yogurt 1 tablespoon
- jampong ham to taste
- cheese 2 slices
- chopped pickled vegetables to taste
- salt a pinch
- pepper a pinch
Recipe 🍳
- Slice green onions and onion thinly, and crush garlic with the side of a knife.
- Heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over low heat, then add the prepared green onions, onion, and garlic. Sauté gently to release their aroma.
- Season the vegetables with salt and pepper, then add the finely chopped cauliflower (200g) once the onion becomes translucent.
- Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a pinch of salt, cover the pan, and cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes until the ingredients are tender.
- Transfer the cooked mixture to a blender, add 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt, and blend until smooth. Let it cool completely to finish the dip.
- Spread a generous layer of the cooled cauliflower dip onto crispy toasted bread.
- Layer the chopped pickled vegetables, two slices of cheese, and thinly sliced jampong ham on top in sequence.
- Top with the remaining slice of bread, cut into serving-sized pieces, and serve.
- Sauté aromatic vegetables in olive oil over low heat, then add cauliflower and cover to steam gently.
- Blend the cooked mixture with yogurt until smooth, then chill before using as a dip.
- Spread the chilled dip on toasted bread and layer with pickled vegetables, cheese, and jampong ham to complete the sandwich.
Cooking tips 💡
- When sautéing vegetables, use low or medium-low heat to avoid browning—this preserves their natural sweetness.
- The finished cauliflower dip can be stored in the refrigerator for 3–4 days and also works well as a dipping sauce for vegetable sticks.
- For a slightly sweeter taste, spread a thin layer of strawberry jam on one side of the bread to balance the savory flavors.
