Ttukdak Hyung's Sweet and Sour Pork (Tangsuyuk)

Delicious sweet and sour pork (tang su yuk) made with crispy fried pork shoulder, served with a tangy sauce containing carrots, onions, and bell peppers.

Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings

  • Cooking oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Pork shoulder: 500g
  • Salt: 0.3 tablespoon
  • Pepper: 0.2 tablespoon
  • Starch powder (potato starch): 3 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds
  • Water: 90ml
  • Flour: 1T
  • Carrot: 10g
  • Green pepper: 15g
  • Onion: 15g
  • Water: 3 tablespoons
  • Ketchup: 3 tablespoons
  • Sugar: 3 tablespoons
  • Salt: 0.1 tablespoon
  • Vinegar: 1 tablespoon

Recipe 🍳

  1. Mix well to prevent sticking, and it's done.
  2. Make the Tangsuyuk. Pour cooking oil into a pan. Add the pork shoulder. Sprinkle with salt. Sprinkle with pepper. Stir-fry until the meat is cooked. Add water to a bowl. Add flour. Mix well to make a flour-water mixture. When the meat turns brown, pour in the flour-water mixture. Sift in starch powder. Mix well. Pour in the flour-water mixture again. Sift in starch powder. Mix well. Finally, pour in the flour-water mixture. Sift in starch powder.
  3. Make the Tangsuyuk sauce and mix. Set the Tangsuyuk aside briefly. Add carrots to the pan. Add onion. Add green pepper. Add water. Add ketchup. Add sugar. Add vinegar. Add salt. Mix well. Add the set-aside Tangsuyuk. Mix the Tangsuyuk and sauce well. Plate it. Sprinkle with sesame seeds to finish. Done.
  1. Stir-fry pork shoulder, then alternately add flour batter and starch powder while mixing well to coat with a crispy batter.
  2. Set aside the fried pork shoulder, then stir-fry carrots, onions, and bell peppers in the same pan, and make a sweet and sour tangsuyuk sauce with ketchup and vinegar.
  3. Add the battered pork shoulder to the sauce, mix well, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and complete the delicious tangsuyuk.

  • When stir-frying pork shoulder, alternately sprinkle with flour water and starch powder while mixing to achieve a crispy coating for Tangsuyuk.
