Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings
- spaghetti 1 serving
- pork belly 200g
- onion 1/2
- minced garlic 1 tablespoon
- chili powder 1 tablespoon
- light soy sauce 1 tablespoon
- water 3 cups
- gochujang 1 tablespoon
- tomato spaghetti sauce 3 tablespoons
- Chinese cabbage as needed
- green onion as needed
- black pepper a pinch
Recipe 🍳
- In a pan, add 200g pork belly, half a sliced onion, and 1 tablespoon minced garlic. Sauté together until the meat turns browned.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon chili powder evenly over the mixture, then pour 1 tablespoon light soy sauce around the edge of the pan. Stir quickly for 10 seconds to develop the soy sauce aroma and smoky notes.
- Add 3 cups of water, then stir in 1 tablespoon gochujang and 3 tablespoons tomato spaghetti sauce. Mix well to blend the broth thoroughly.
- Once the broth begins to bubble vigorously, add 1 serving of spaghetti and simmer until the noodles are cooked to your desired tenderness.
- About 2–3 minutes before the noodles are fully cooked, add the sliced Chinese cabbage and green onion to enhance the crisp texture and refreshing taste.
- Turn off the heat once the noodles are done, then sprinkle a little black pepper on top for the final touch.
- Sauté pork belly, onion, and minced garlic until fragrant; add chili powder and light soy sauce to build aroma.
- Pour in water, gochujang, and tomato sauce, bring to a boil, then add spaghetti and cook through.
- Add Chinese cabbage and green onion just before the noodles finish cooking, then season with black pepper to finish.
Cooking tips 💡
- Cover the pan while boiling the noodles to trap heat and reduce cooking time.
- If the broth reduces too much during cooking, add a little water gradually to maintain your preferred consistency.
- Chinese cabbage and green onion can be omitted, but adding them enhances the fresh, hearty flavor reminiscent of Chinese-style jajangmyeon.
