Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings

  • spaghetti 1 serving
  • pork belly 200g
  • onion 1/2
  • minced garlic 1 tablespoon
  • chili powder 1 tablespoon
  • light soy sauce 1 tablespoon
  • water 3 cups
  • gochujang 1 tablespoon
  • tomato spaghetti sauce 3 tablespoons
  • Chinese cabbage as needed
  • green onion as needed
  • black pepper a pinch

Recipe 🍳

  1. In a pan, add 200g pork belly, half a sliced onion, and 1 tablespoon minced garlic. Sauté together until the meat turns browned.
  2. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon chili powder evenly over the mixture, then pour 1 tablespoon light soy sauce around the edge of the pan. Stir quickly for 10 seconds to develop the soy sauce aroma and smoky notes.
  3. Add 3 cups of water, then stir in 1 tablespoon gochujang and 3 tablespoons tomato spaghetti sauce. Mix well to blend the broth thoroughly.
  4. Once the broth begins to bubble vigorously, add 1 serving of spaghetti and simmer until the noodles are cooked to your desired tenderness.
  5. About 2–3 minutes before the noodles are fully cooked, add the sliced Chinese cabbage and green onion to enhance the crisp texture and refreshing taste.
  6. Turn off the heat once the noodles are done, then sprinkle a little black pepper on top for the final touch.
  1. Sauté pork belly, onion, and minced garlic until fragrant; add chili powder and light soy sauce to build aroma.
  2. Pour in water, gochujang, and tomato sauce, bring to a boil, then add spaghetti and cook through.
  3. Add Chinese cabbage and green onion just before the noodles finish cooking, then season with black pepper to finish.

Cooking tips 💡

  • Cover the pan while boiling the noodles to trap heat and reduce cooking time.
  • If the broth reduces too much during cooking, add a little water gradually to maintain your preferred consistency.
  • Chinese cabbage and green onion can be omitted, but adding them enhances the fresh, hearty flavor reminiscent of Chinese-style jajangmyeon.
