Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- bulgogi beef 300g
- soy sauce 2 tablespoons
- oyster sauce 2 tablespoons
- sugar 1 tablespoon
- minced garlic 1 tablespoon
- black pepper generously
- strained pear juice 1 small can
- leek (or chopped leek) generously
- soaked glass noodles handful
- sesame oil 1 tablespoon
- toasted sesame seeds a little
Recipe 🍳
- Place 300g of bulgogi beef in a bowl and add 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, and generous black pepper.
- Pour in 1 small can of pear juice, including all the pulp, and mix thoroughly until the marinade is evenly distributed.
- Cut the leek into your preferred chop length, halve it, remove the center core, roll it up, and thinly slice to make chopped leek.
- Transfer the marinated beef and marinade into a stew pot, then pile the prepared chopped leek generously on top.
- Add the pre-soaked glass noodles to one side of the pot as well.
- Simmer over medium-low heat until the beef is fully cooked. If the beef pieces are large, cut them into bite-sized portions with scissors.
- Once the beef is done, turn off the heat and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and a little toasted sesame seeds on top to finish.
- Marinate the beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, garlic, and pear juice, mixing well.
- Place the marinated beef and its liquid into a pot, then add plenty of chopped leek and soaked glass noodles.
- Simmer over medium-low heat until the beef is cooked through, then finish by sprinkling sesame oil and toasted sesame seeds.
Cooking tips 💡
- If you don’t have time to chop leeks yourself, use store-bought pre-chopped leek products to save time.
- Glass noodles absorb broth quickly, so if the broth reduces too much, don’t panic—add water gradually while simmering.
- For extra richness and variety, feel free to add ingredients like onion, mushrooms, or green chili peppers based on your preference.
