🙋 Recommended for

  • Those who want to quickly prepare a cool, spicy-sweet side dish or drink snack without using a stove
  • Those interested in learning the golden ratio method for making a delicious, tangy-sweet squid salad dressing

Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings

  • squid 3 pieces
  • onion 1/2
  • green onion 1/2 stalk
  • store-bought soy sauce to taste
  • vinegar 2 tablespoons
  • sugar 0.5 tablespoon
  • minced garlic 1 tablespoon
  • red pepper powder 1 tablespoon
  • sesame seeds a pinch

Recipe 🍳

  1. Wash the squid thoroughly, clean it, place it in a silicone-safe container, and microwave until properly cooked.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add generous amount of store-bought soy sauce, then mix in vinegar 2 tablespoons, sugar 0.5 tablespoon, minced garlic 1 tablespoon, and red pepper powder 1 tablespoon to make the dressing.
  3. Slice the onion into thin half-moon shapes, and finely chop the green onion.
  4. Cut the microwaved squid into bite-sized circular pieces.
  5. Add the prepared vegetables and squid to the dressing, toss well so the seasoning is evenly distributed, then sprinkle sesame seeds on top to finish.
  1. Cook the squid in the microwave.
  2. Mix store-bought soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, minced garlic, and red pepper powder to make the dressing.
  3. Chop the onion and green onion into appropriate sizes.
  4. Cut the cooked squid into bite-sized pieces.
  5. Combine squid and vegetables with the dressing and toss well, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Cooking tips 💡

  • Adding red pepper powder directly to the dressing helps absorb moisture released from the vegetables and squid, preventing the salad from becoming too sticky.
  • Avoid overcooking squid in the microwave as it may become tough; adjust cooking time according to your microwave’s specifications and the size of the squid.
