Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- kalguksu noodles 2 servings
- ground pork 150g
- onion 1
- minced garlic 1 tablespoon
- green onion 1/2 stalk
- gochugaru 1.5 tablespoons
- potato 1
- water 1L
- gochujang 2 tablespoons
- spicy ramen seasoning 1 tablespoon
Recipe 🍳
- In a pot, add ground pork and sauté together with chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped green onion.
- Once the pork aroma rises, evenly sprinkle in gochugaru, then add sliced potato and remaining onion, continuing to stir-fry.
- Pour in part of the 1L water first, reducing it to a thick consistency while extracting starch, then dissolve 2 tablespoons of gochujang to form the gochujang stew base.
- Add the remaining water to adjust broth volume, then stir in 1 tablespoon of spicy ramen seasoning for added umami and heat.
- When the broth boils vigorously, add kalguksu noodles and continue cooking gently for about 1–2 minutes until the noodles are fully cooked.
- Sauté ground pork with green onion, garlic, and onion, then add gochugaru and potato.
- Gradually pour in water while dissolving gochujang, simmering until thickened to form the base.
- Adjust seasoning with ramen seasoning, then add kalguksu noodles and cook briefly.
Cooking tips 💡
- Do not pour all the water at once—add it gradually to extract deeper flavors, resulting in a much richer and thicker broth.
- Adding a small amount of store-bought spicy ramen seasoning or secret seasoning blend can create an addictive, restaurant-quality broth.
