Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- cabbage 1/2 head
- pork belly 20g
- green onion a little
- soy sauce 1 tablespoon
- pork cutlet sauce 2 tablespoons
- sugar 1 tablespoon
- vinegar 1 tablespoon
- water 4 tablespoons
- sesame seeds a little
Recipe 🍳
- Cut the cabbage lengthwise into two halves, then each half into two more pieces, resulting in four equal sections. Carefully remove the tough core from the bottom part with a knife.
- Place the prepared cabbage in a microwave-safe dish and lightly sprinkle water on top to retain moisture.
- Cover the dish with its lid and microwave for 5 minutes, until the fragrant aroma fills the air and the cabbage is tender.
- Finely chop the frozen pork belly and green onion together using a knife.
- Mix the minced pork and green onion with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 2 tablespoons pork cutlet sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon vinegar, and 3–4 tablespoons water to make the sauce.
- Cover the sauce bowl with plastic wrap, poke a few holes, and microwave for 3 minutes, or alternatively heat it in a pan over low heat until the meat is cooked through.
- Pour the warm, finished meat sauce generously over the steamed cabbage, then sprinkle sesame seeds on top to finish.
- Prepare the cabbage by cutting it lengthwise into thin strips, place in a microwave-safe dish, add a splash of water, and microwave for 5 minutes until soft.
- Combine minced pork belly and green onion with soy sauce, pork cutlet sauce, sugar, vinegar, and water; cook in the microwave or on the stove until ready.
- Pour the hot sauce generously over the cabbage and finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Cooking tips 💡
- You can substitute pork belly with any leftover ground meat or bacon. If no meat is available, skip it and just prepare the sauce—it still tastes great.
- While the cabbage steams for 5 minutes in the microwave, quickly prepare the sauce nearby to significantly reduce total cooking time.
