Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- 1/4 head cabbage
- 200g marinated beef flower ribs (or thinly sliced beef)
- 1 pack enoki mushrooms
- 4 tbsp store-bought sesame dressing
- Cilantro to taste
Recipe 🍳
- Lightly press the beef with a paper towel to remove excess blood and surface moisture.
- On a clean cabbage leaf, spread a thin layer of beef, then top with an appropriate amount of enoki mushrooms.
- Repeat this process to build layers, then shape so it fits in the steamer and gently press down.
- Place the cabbage stack in a preheated steamer, cover, and steam for about 10 minutes.
- While the jjim steams, blend the store-bought sesame dressing with fresh cilantro until smooth to make a fragrant green cilantro sesame sauce.
- Let the steamed jjim cool slightly, then cut into bite-sized pieces and arrange on a plate. Serve with the prepared sauce.
- Remove moisture from beef and prepare cabbage and enoki mushrooms.
- Layer cabbage leaves with beef and enoki mushrooms in order.
- Place in steamer, cover, and steam for 10 minutes.
- Blend sesame dressing with cilantro to make the sauce.
- Cut the jjim into bite-sized pieces and serve with the special sauce.
Cooking tips 💡
- Using pre-marinated beef naturally infuses the cabbage with savory flavor, so no additional seasoning is needed.
- Cut the jjim after letting it cool for about 1 minute to prevent the moisture from making the slices messy.
- Don't discard the rich broth that drips down from the beef and cabbage; use it to make noodles or porridge for a perfect finish.
