- green onion a small amount
- 3-minute jjajang 1 pack
- white rice 1 bowl
- black pepper a pinch
- sesame seeds a pinch
Recipe 🍳
- Pour 1.5 cups of water into a pan, then add all the dry ingredients from the japchae ramen—seasoning packet, glass noodles, and liquid seasoning.
- Slice 1/4 of an onion thinly and place it on top of the noodles.
- Boil over high heat for about 5 minutes, until the water has mostly evaporated.
- Just 1 minute before finishing, add a small amount of chopped green onion for color.
- When the mixture is slightly dry, stir in the sesame oil included with the ramen package and mix well.
- Place warm rice into a serving bowl, then top with the finished japchae.
- Warm up the 3-minute jjajang sauce and pour it over the japchae, then sprinkle with black pepper and sesame seeds to finish.
- Add water, japchae ramen ingredients, and sliced onion to a pan and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Finish by adding green onion and sesame oil to complete the japchae.
- Serve the rice and japchae together in a bowl, then top with warmed jjajang sauce, black pepper, and sesame seeds.
Cooking tips 💡
- Slicing the onion finely helps balance the saltiness and preserves the crisp texture unique to japchae.
- If you have leftover meat or mushrooms, adding them during cooking enhances flavor and variety.
- For best taste, mix the sauce evenly through both rice and noodles before eating.
