Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings
- Shrimp dumpling mixture (minced shrimp), as needed
- Store-bought dumpling wrappers, 5 to 6 sheets
- Chicken stock, 2 teaspoons
- Bok choy, 1 head
- Chili oil, a splash
Recipe 🍳
- Pour 500ml of water into a pot, add 2 teaspoons of chicken stock, and bring to a boil to make the base broth.
- Once the broth is boiling, tear the store-bought dumpling wrappers into bite-sized pieces or add them whole to the broth.
- Immediately after adding the wrappers, gently stir with a spoon to prevent them from sticking together.
- Using a teaspoon, drop spoonfuls of the prepared shrimp dumpling mixture into the boiling broth, one bite-sized piece at a time.
- Boil for about 4 to 5 minutes until the dumplings are fully cooked, then add bok choy. Turn off the heat and finish with a drizzle of chili oil to taste.
- Bring water with chicken stock to a boil to make a clear broth.
- Add dumpling wrappers to the boiling broth and spoon in the shrimp dumpling mixture a little at a time.
- Once the dumplings are cooked, add bok choy and finish with chili oil.
Cooking tips 💡
- Dumpling wrappers clump quickly in the broth, so add them one sheet at a time and stir immediately for a silky texture.
- If you prefer a spicy, bold flavor, add a generous drizzle of chili oil at the end or add chopped green chili peppers.
