- canned tuna 1 can
- onion 1/2 medium
- green onion 1/2 bunch
- red pepper powder 3 tablespoons
- soy sauce 3 tablespoons
- mirin 2 tablespoons
- sugar 1 tablespoon
- water 1.5 cups
Recipe 🍳
- Peel the outer layer of the radish thinly and cut it into thick half-moon slices.
- Chop the onion coarsely and finely slice the green onion.
- In a small bowl, mix red pepper powder, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar according to the amounts to make the seasoning sauce.
- Place the sliced radish in a pot without overlapping, pour the seasoning sauce evenly over it, then add water.
- Cover the pot and simmer over medium heat until the radish is soft throughout.
- Once the radish becomes translucent, add the chopped onion and the entire contents of the canned tuna.
- Finally, sprinkle the finely sliced green onion on top and gently stir the broth upward while reducing it to a desirable thickness.
- Cut the radish thickly and prepare the onion and green onion.
- Mix red pepper powder, soy sauce, and other seasonings to create a spicy sauce.
- Add radish, sauce, and water to a pot and simmer until the radish is soft.
- Add the canned tuna and prepared vegetables, then reduce the broth to your desired consistency.
Cooking tips 💡
- Do not discard the oil from the tuna can—using it enhances the richness and depth of flavor in the stew.
- Simmer long enough for the radish to become fully tender so the sauce penetrates deeply into the vegetable.
