Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings
- crushed Spam (as needed)
- cabbage (as needed)
- onion (as needed)
- garlic (as needed)
- pasta, 1 serving
- pasta water (a little)
- ketchup (or tomato sauce) (as needed)
- oyster sauce (a little)
Recipe 🍳
- Gently crush the Spam. Finely chop the cabbage, onion, and garlic into pieces slightly smaller than bite-size.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta to your preferred doneness. Drain the pasta and reserve some of the pasta water.
- In a pan, add the crushed Spam and chopped vegetables. Stir-fry over high heat until the Spam oil is fully rendered and the mixture turns golden brown.
- Add the cooked pasta, a small amount of reserved pasta water, ketchup (or tomato sauce), and oyster sauce to the pan. Quickly toss until the sauce is absorbed into the pasta. Serve.
- Crush Spam, chop vegetables, and cook pasta al dente.
- Stir-fry crushed Spam and vegetables in a pan until aromatic and browned.
- Add pasta, pasta water, ketchup, and oyster sauce; toss until the sauce coats the noodles evenly.
Cooking tips 💡
- Using only ketchup can make the dish too tangy; adding a small amount of oyster sauce balances the acidity and enhances umami.
- If the pasta seems dry when tossing with the sauce, add a tablespoon or two of the reserved pasta water to keep it moist and ensure even coating.
