Ingredients needed 🛒3 servings
- marshmallows (as needed)
- 1 tbsp butter
- your choice of cereal (generous amount)
Recipe 🍳
- In a preheated pan, melt a piece of butter and add the marshmallows.
- Keep the heat low to prevent the sugar from burning, and stir continuously with a spatula until the marshmallows are fully melted and smooth.
- Once the marshmallows have melted and puffed up white, turn off the heat and generously add your desired cereal.
- Quickly mix the cereal with a spatula so that it is evenly coated with the sticky melted marshmallows.
- Line a large tray or square mold with parchment paper, pour the mixture in, and flatten the top evenly.
- Transfer the shaped energy bar mixture to the freezer and let it harden for at least 2 hours.
- Remove from the freezer, place on a cutting board, and cut into bar shapes or squares with a knife.
- Melt butter and marshmallows in a pan over low heat, stirring to prevent burning.
- Add cereal to the melted mixture and mix until evenly combined into one mass.
- Spread flat on parchment paper, freeze for 2 hours, then slice.
Cooking tips 💡
- Marshmallows have high sugar content and can quickly turn brown and hard over high heat, so always keep the heat low from start to finish to maintain a chewy texture after setting.
- Feel free to mix in chocolate cereal, nuts like almonds or walnuts, dried cranberries, etc., to create your own custom nutrition bars.
