Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- 1kg raw short ribs
- Soy sauce, to taste
- Cooking wine, a little
- Crushed pear juice drink, a little
- Minced garlic, generously
- Honey, generously
- Butter, generously
- Parsley flakes, a little
- Cooking oil, a little
Recipe 🍳
- Trim off the tough, thick fat from the surface of the raw short ribs and make diagonal cuts into the membrane for a tender texture.
- Cut the trimmed short ribs into bite-sized pieces.
- Place the cut meat in a bowl, add soy sauce, cooking wine, and crushed pear juice drink, mix well to coat, and marinate in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Lightly grease a preheated pan with cooking oil and grill the marinated short ribs until crispy, sealing in the juices. Simultaneously use a kitchen torch to impart a strong smoky flavor to the surface.
- To make the sauce, place minced garlic, honey, and butter in a heatproof bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and poke small holes with a fork.
- Microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds, in 30-second intervals to prevent splattering, to create a garlic honey butter sauce with a subtle garlic aroma.
- Arrange the crispy grilled short ribs on a serving plate, sprinkle with parsley flakes, and serve with the warm, melted sweet and savory honey butter sauce.
- Trim and cut the short ribs, then marinate in soy sauce, cooking wine, and pear juice for 30 minutes.
- Grill the meat in a pan until crispy, using a torch for a smoky flavor.
- Make the sauce by microwaving garlic, honey, and butter for a total of 1 minute and 30 seconds, then serve with the meat.
Cooking tips 💡
- Using a kitchen torch to directly flame the meat while grilling is essential, not just for aroma, but to create a crispy coating on the surface, which completely transforms the overall juiciness and flavor.
- When microwaving the honey butter sauce, avoid heating it for too long at once, as the garlic and butter can splatter. Always heat in 30-second intervals, checking each time for a clean result.
