Striker Chef's Rosemary Chicken Drumstick Bites

  • 1 bag frozen dumplings
  • 2 cups hot cake mix powder
  • 2 eggs
  • Appropriate amount of rosemary sprigs
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp spicy chicken sauce
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Plenty of cooking oil

Recipe 🍳

  1. Take out the frozen dumplings and place them in a blender to finely grind the filling.
  2. Add 1 egg to the hot cake mix powder and knead with your hands until it forms a dough.
  3. Take a portion of the dough, roll it into a long cylinder, fill it with the ground dumpling filling, and wrap it to seal.
  4. Strip the leaves from the lower part of the rosemary sprigs to create a bone-like shape, then insert it into the prepared dumpling dough to mimic a drumstick shape.
  5. Pour plenty of cooking oil into a pan and heat it to 150°C (300°F).
  6. Dip the prepared drumstick-shaped bites into beaten egg, then coat evenly with bread crumbs.
  7. Fry in 150°C (300°F) oil, turning them to ensure they become golden brown and crispy.
  8. Mix the spicy chicken sauce, corn syrup, and mayonnaise to create a special sweet and spicy sauce.
  9. Neatly pipe the sauce onto a plate and arrange the fried bites on top to finish the plating.
  1. Grind dumplings in a blender to make the filling.
  2. Make dough with hot cake mix and eggs.
  3. Fill the dough with dumpling filling, insert rosemary, and shape into drumsticks.
  4. Coat with egg wash and bread crumbs, then fry in 150°C oil until golden brown.
  5. Make a special sauce based on spicy chicken sauce and serve alongside.

Cooking tips 💡

  • If the dough is too sticky, gradually add more hot cake mix powder to adjust the consistency.
  • The rosemary becomes subtly fragrant and mild after frying, so it's not overpowering to eat together.
