Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings
- Anchovy kalguksu ramen 1 pack (use both noodles and powder seasoning)
- Garlic 1 handful
- Bacon 2–3 strips
- Water 1/2 cup (about 90ml)
- Green onion or scallion a little
- Pepper a little
- Cooking oil as needed
Recipe 🍳
- Boil the anchovy kalguksu noodles in boiling water until properly cooked, then drain and set aside to remove excess moisture.
- Heat cooking oil in a pan, then add 1 handful of garlic sliced thinly or lightly crushed.
- Cut 2–3 strips of bacon into bite-sized pieces and add them to the pan with the garlic.
- Add about 2/3 of the ramen powder seasoning and sauté together with the ingredients until a rich, nutty oil aroma develops.
- When the garlic and bacon turn golden brown, add the drained noodles and pour in 1/2 cup of water.
- Quickly stir-fry for 1–2 minutes, allowing the sauce to evenly coat the noodle surface.
- Arrange the noodles neatly in a bowl, garnish with finely chopped green onion, and sprinkle pepper to taste.
- First cook the kalguksu noodles and set them aside. Prepare the pan by heating oil and sautéing garlic and bacon.
- Add 2/3 of the powder seasoning and stir-fry together. Then add the cooked noodles and 1/2 cup of water, and stir-fry gently until reduced.
- Plate the noodles attractively, then generously top with fresh green onions and fragrant pepper.
Cooking tips 💡
- Cut garlic into thick slices or crush it coarsely rather than slicing too thin to prevent burning and ensure a rich garlic oil aroma.
- Adding all the seasoning at once may make the dish too salty, so start with 2/3 of the amount and adjust to taste while stirring.
- Adding a small amount of water during frying prevents the noodles from becoming sticky due to starch, resulting in a moist and smooth stir-fried texture.
