Solo Cooking God Chicken Gomtang Ramen

A rich, bold, and spicy chicken gomtang-style ramen that adds convenience store chicken breast and anchovy sauce to sari-gomtang ramen for a festive summer solstice vibe.

🙋 Recommended for

  • People who want to enjoy a nourishing meal at home on summer solstice without much effort
  • Those looking to enjoy sari-gomtang ramen in a bolder, spicier way

Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings

  • sari-gomtang ramen 1 pack
  • chicken breast 1 pack
  • anchovy sauce 0.5 tablespoon
  • soybean sprouts (or mung bean sprouts) 1 handful
  • chili powder 1 tablespoon
  • finely chopped green onion half a stalk
  • water 3 cups
  • vegetable oil as needed
  • black pepper a pinch

Recipe 🍳

  1. Tear the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces while still chilled, for a convenient eating texture.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan, then quickly sauté green onion and chili powder for 10–20 seconds, stirring constantly to avoid burning and create a fragrant chili oil.
  3. Pour in 3 cups of water and add 0.5 tablespoon of anchovy sauce to season the broth.
  4. Add the torn chicken breast, powdered soup mix from the sari-gomtang ramen, and solid soup base, then bring everything to a boil together.
  5. Once the broth is boiling vigorously, add the ramen noodles and a handful of soybean sprouts, and cook until the noodles are fully cooked.
  6. First, transfer the cooked noodles to a bowl, then pour over the broth and solids, and finish by sprinkling a little black pepper.
  1. Tear the chicken breast and quickly sauté green onion and chili powder in a pan to make the oil.
  2. Add water, anchovy sauce, chicken breast, and ramen seasoning, then bring the broth to a boil.
  3. Add noodles and soybean sprouts, cook through, then sprinkle with pepper and serve in a bowl.

Cooking tips 💡

  • Chili powder burns easily on high heat, so it must be quickly sautéed just before adding water to prevent a burnt taste.
  • Taste the broth and adjust seasoning—add more anchovy sauce if too bland, or add a bit more water if too salty.
  • You can substitute soybean sprouts with mung bean sprouts for a refreshing alternative flavor.
