Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings
- sari-gomtang ramen 1 pack
- chicken breast 1 pack
- anchovy sauce 0.5 tablespoon
- soybean sprouts (or mung bean sprouts) 1 handful
- chili powder 1 tablespoon
- finely chopped green onion half a stalk
- water 3 cups
- vegetable oil as needed
- black pepper a pinch
Recipe 🍳
- Tear the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces while still chilled, for a convenient eating texture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan, then quickly sauté green onion and chili powder for 10–20 seconds, stirring constantly to avoid burning and create a fragrant chili oil.
- Pour in 3 cups of water and add 0.5 tablespoon of anchovy sauce to season the broth.
- Add the torn chicken breast, powdered soup mix from the sari-gomtang ramen, and solid soup base, then bring everything to a boil together.
- Once the broth is boiling vigorously, add the ramen noodles and a handful of soybean sprouts, and cook until the noodles are fully cooked.
- First, transfer the cooked noodles to a bowl, then pour over the broth and solids, and finish by sprinkling a little black pepper.
- Tear the chicken breast and quickly sauté green onion and chili powder in a pan to make the oil.
- Add water, anchovy sauce, chicken breast, and ramen seasoning, then bring the broth to a boil.
- Add noodles and soybean sprouts, cook through, then sprinkle with pepper and serve in a bowl.
Cooking tips 💡
- Chili powder burns easily on high heat, so it must be quickly sautéed just before adding water to prevent a burnt taste.
- Taste the broth and adjust seasoning—add more anchovy sauce if too bland, or add a bit more water if too salty.
- You can substitute soybean sprouts with mung bean sprouts for a refreshing alternative flavor.
