Recipe 🍳
- Wash the burdock root under running water, then gently scrape off the outer skin with the back of a knife. Slice it thinly at an angle and set aside.
- Soak the sliced burdock root in cold water and gently rub it with your fingers to clean. Drain through a sieve to remove excess moisture.
- In a stewing pan, combine soy sauce 2 tablespoons, oyster sauce 2 tablespoons, corn syrup 2 tablespoons, and sugar 1 tablespoon. Mix well until the sugar dissolves slowly.
- Before turning on the heat, add the burdock root to the sauce and toss thoroughly. Then turn on the heat and simmer until the sauce reduces to a desirable consistency.
- Peel the burdock root and slice it thinly at an angle. Rinse lightly in water.
- In a pan, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, corn syrup, and sugar together.
- Add the burdock root to the sauce before heating, toss well, then cook over heat until the sauce thickens.
Cooking tips 💡
- Mix the burdock root with the sauce before turning on the heat to prevent burning and ensure even seasoning.
- Slice the burdock root as thinly as possible for better flavor absorption and a crisp yet tender texture.
