Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- squid 1 piece
- potato 2 pieces
- onion 1/2 piece
- green onion 1/2 stalk
- gochujang 1 tablespoon
- red pepper powder 2 tablespoons
- soy sauce 2 tablespoons
- minced garlic 1 tablespoon
- oligodextrose 1 tablespoon
- vegetable oil as needed
- toasted sesame seeds a pinch
Recipe 🍳
- Remove the innards from the squid and wash thoroughly, then cut into bite-sized or long strips.
- Peel the potatoes and slice them into thick half-moon shapes. Soak in water briefly to remove starch, then drain and set aside on a sieve.
- Chop the onion coarsely and slice the green onion diagonally for vegetable prep.
- Heat a pan and add generous amount of vegetable oil. Add the drained potatoes first and stir-fry until the surface turns translucent.
- When the potatoes are about halfway cooked, add the prepared squid, onion, and green onion all at once.
- Add gochujang, red pepper powder, soy sauce, minced garlic, and oligodextrose one by one, stirring gently.
- Cook over high heat, quickly tossing until the squid becomes tender and the sauce evenly coats everything.
- Turn off the heat once the squid is fully cooked, then sprinkle toasted sesame seeds generously on top.
- Cut squid and vegetables, and slice potatoes, soaking them in water to remove starch.
- Heat oil in a pan and stir-fry the firm potatoes first until cooked.
- As the potatoes cook, add squid, vegetables, and measured seasonings all at once.
- Quickly stir-fry over high heat and finish by sprinkling toasted sesame seeds.
Cooking tips 💡
- Rinse the potatoes well under water to completely remove starch, ensuring they don’t stick to the pan and cook cleanly.
- Avoid overcooking squid, as it loses moisture and becomes tough—stir quickly after adding seasonings to keep it tender.
