Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- fish cake 1 pack
- green onion half a bunch
- onion half a piece
- oyster sauce 2 tablespoons
- dried anchovy soy sauce 1 tablespoon
- sugar 2 tablespoons
- red pepper powder 3 tablespoons
- minced garlic 1 tablespoon
- pepper generously
- vegetable oil generously
- bean sprouts 2–3 handfuls
- sesame oil a little
- sesame seeds a little
Recipe 🍳
- Slice the fish cake into bite-sized long pieces, cut the green onion in half and chop coarsely, and finely slice half an onion.
- In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon dried anchovy soy sauce, 2 tablespoons sugar, 3 tablespoons red pepper powder, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, and generous pepper to create a thick seasoning paste.
- Heat generous vegetable oil in a pan, then add the sliced onion, green onion, and fish cake. Stir-fry until the vegetables begin to wilt slightly.
- Once the vegetables have wilted, add 2–3 handfuls of bean sprouts to fill the pan, then pour the prepared seasoning mixture over everything.
- Continue stirring together the ingredients and seasoning until the bean sprouts are cooked and release moisture.
- Finish by evenly sprinkling sesame oil and sesame seeds for a rich, nutty finish.
- Chop fish cake and vegetables, and prepare a seasoning paste with oyster sauce, soy sauce, red pepper powder, and other seasonings.
- Heat oil in a pan, stir-fry fish cake, onion, and green onion, then add bean sprouts and the seasoning paste to combine.
- When the bean sprouts lose their crispness and the seasoning is well blended, sprinkle sesame oil and sesame seeds to finish.
Cooking tips 💡
- Choose fish cake with high meat content for a chewier texture and better mouthfeel.
- Use mild red pepper powder for a bright red color and appealing look while keeping it non-spicy—ideal for those who can't tolerate heat.
- Bean sprouts wilt quickly, so it’s best to lightly stir-fry the green onion and onion first to wilt them slightly before adding the bean sprouts later.
