Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- 1 potato
- 1/2 onion
- 1 cup cream soup powder
- 1 cup water
- Mozzarella cheese (to taste)
- 1 slice cheese
- Pinch of parsley powder
Recipe 🍳
- Slice the potatoes as thinly and flatly as possible so they cook quickly.
- Slice the onion into strips of similar thickness to the potatoes.
- Heat oil in a pan, add the thinly sliced potatoes first, and sauté until they become translucent.
- Once the potatoes are somewhat cooked, add the sliced onion and sauté until golden to bring out the aroma.
- Add 1 cup of water and the cream soup powder, and quickly stir to prevent lumps while bringing to a boil.
- Once the soup sauce thickens, transfer to a dish and generously top with mozzarella cheese and a slice of cheese.
- Place in the microwave and heat for about 1-2 minutes until the cheese is completely melted, then finish with a sprinkle of parsley powder.
- Thinly slice potatoes and onions, then sauté in a pan until golden.
- Add water and cream soup powder, simmer until thickened, then transfer to a dish.
- Top generously with cheese and microwave until the cheese melts.
Cooking tips 💡
- If the potatoes are too thick, they might not cook through by the time the sauce reduces, so slice them thinly or ensure they are fully cooked during the sautéing step.
- Using milk instead of water to dissolve the soup powder will give the gratin a deeper, richer flavor.
- Feel free to add bacon or sweet corn while sautéing to add more texture and fun.
