🙋 Recommended for

  • Those who want to quickly use up a large amount of leftover cabbage.
  • Those looking for a tasty late-night snack or drinking snack with guilt-free calories.

Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings

  • 1/4 head of cabbage
  • a handful of bean sprouts (or soybean sprouts)
  • 1 paper cup of pancake mix
  • 1 paper cup of water
  • 1 egg
  • a suitable amount of salt
  • a suitable amount of pepper
  • a suitable amount of cooking oil
  • a suitable amount of mayonnaise
  • a suitable amount of bonito flakes
  • a suitable amount of parsley flakes

Recipe 🍳

  1. Shred 1/4 head of cabbage as thinly as possible, wash it in water, and drain.
  2. Place the trimmed cabbage and a handful of bean sprouts in a bowl.
  3. Add 1 cup of pancake mix, 1 cup of water, 1 egg, and salt and pepper, then mix lightly. The batter doesn't need to be completely smooth; it's enough if it just clumps onto the ingredients.
  4. Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a preheated pan, then spread all the batter evenly in the pan.
  5. Cover with a lid and cook over medium-low heat until the bottom is golden and cooked through.
  6. Once the bottom is cooked, flip it using a spatula or the pan, cover again, and cook the other side until crispy.
  7. When it's fully cooked through, transfer to a plate and spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on top.
  8. Sprinkle a generous amount of bonito flakes and parsley flakes to finish.
  1. Thinly shred the cabbage and place it in a bowl with the bean sprouts.
  2. Add pancake mix, water, egg, salt, and pepper, and toss lightly until the ingredients just come together.
  3. Spread the batter evenly in an oiled pan, cover, and cook over medium-low heat until both sides are golden.
  4. Top with mayonnaise, bonito flakes, and parsley flakes to finish.

Cooking tips 💡

  • Shred the cabbage as thinly as possible so it blends well with the batter and gives a soft texture.
  • Add shrimp, seafood, pork, etc. according to your preference for a richer taste.
  • When drizzling mayonnaise, put it in a plastic bag or squeeze bottle and drizzle in a thin zigzag pattern for a nicer appearance.
