- tofu 1 block
- perilla leaves 10~15 leaves
- soy sauce (or seasoned soy sauce) 2 tablespoons
- water 2 tablespoons
- minced garlic 1 tablespoon
- red pepper powder 2 tablespoons
- sesame oil 1 teaspoon
- onion 1/4 small
Recipe 🍳
- Cut the tofu in half, then slice into bite-sized pieces.
- Wash the perilla leaves thoroughly, remove excess moisture, and trim the stems.
- Place one piece of sliced tofu onto a perilla leaf and roll it up tightly; arrange on a serving plate.
- Chop the onion finely and prepare.
- Mix chopped onion, soy sauce, water, minced garlic, red pepper powder, and sesame oil to make the seasoning sauce.
- Generously spoon the prepared sauce over the rolled tofu wraps to finish.
- Slice tofu into bite-sized pieces and wrap with perilla leaves.
- Prepare a spicy seasoning sauce using chopped onion, soy sauce, red pepper powder, and other seasonings.
- Top the perilla-wrapped tofu with plenty of the sauce to finish.
Cooking tips 💡
- Gently pat the tofu dry with a kitchen towel before wrapping to prevent the sauce from sliding off.
- Using seasoned soy sauce enhances depth of flavor, and you can optionally add minced green chili peppers based on preference.
