- water 1L
- tuna sauce 5 tablespoons
- sesame oil 1 tablespoon
- shrimp 5 pieces
- potato starch 2 tablespoons
- water (for starch) 4 tablespoons
- egg 3 pieces
- green onion or scallion a little
- chili oil 1 tablespoon (optional)
- toasted sesame seeds a little
Recipe 🍳
- Pour 1L of water into a pan or pot, add 5 tablespoons of tuna sauce and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and bring to a boil.
- Cut 5 shrimp into bite-sized pieces and add them to the boiling broth.
- Gradually stir in a starch slurry made from 2 tablespoons of potato starch and 4 tablespoons of water until the broth reaches your desired thickness.
- Gently beat 3 eggs and slowly pour them around the edge of the boiling broth to form soft strands.
- Let it sit undisturbed for about 30 seconds until the eggs are softly set, then gently stir and add chopped green onion before turning off the heat.
- Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of chili oil if desired, sprinkle with crushed toasted sesame seeds, and serve.
- Bring water, tuna sauce, and sesame oil to a boil in a pot, then add sliced shrimp.
- Add the starch slurry to adjust the broth’s consistency to be thick.
- Pour in beaten eggs, let sit for 30 seconds, then gently stir and add green onion to finish.
- Serve with chili oil and sesame seeds on the side.
Cooking tips 💡
- If shrimp is unavailable, you can substitute with crab meat, calamari, dried fish, or other seafood from your fridge.
- Avoid stirring immediately after adding the eggs, as this can cloud the broth. Wait about 30 seconds until the eggs begin to clump, then gently stir for a clean result.
