Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- Clam meat (generous amount)
- Diced potato (some)
- Diced bacon (some)
- Cream soup powder (1 packet)
- Water (appropriate amount)
- Clam dashida (some)
- Cooking oil (some)
- Black pepper (some)
- Parsley powder (some)
Recipe 🍳
- Add a little cooking oil to a frying pan and stir-fry finely diced potatoes, bacon, and pre-cooked clam meat together.
- When the bacon fat renders and the potato surfaces become translucent, carefully pour the measured cold water into the pan.
- Add one packet of store-bought cream soup powder and a small amount of clam dashida for flavor.
- Stir well with a whisk or spatula, making sure to scrape the bottom, until the soup powder is completely dissolved without lumps.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring constantly to prevent the soup from sticking to the bottom, until it thickens to the desired consistency.
- Pour the finished clam chowder into soup bowls, sprinkle black pepper and parsley powder on top, and enjoy warm.
- Add diced potatoes, bacon, and clam meat to a pan and stir-fry in oil to release aroma.
- Pour in water, add cream soup powder and clam dashida, and stir to dissolve without lumps.
- Stir steadily to prevent burning, simmer until thickened, then sprinkle with black pepper and parsley to finish.
Cooking tips 💡
- Using pre-shelled cooked clam meat or canned clam meat dramatically reduces prep time without the hassle of shelling.
- Adding soup powder to hot water easily causes lumps, so it's cleaner to add it to cold or lukewarm water and stir.
- Depending on preference, you can add diced onion or bread croutons for a sweeter, more filling breakfast option.
