  • flour 2 tablespoons
  • water 1 tablespoon

  3. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon whole sesame seeds, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon minced garlic. Mix well to make the sauce.
  4. Transfer the floured gwari gochu into a microwave-safe dish and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of water evenly over the surface.
  5. Cover the dish and microwave for 3 minutes.
  6. Let the gwari gochu jjim cool slightly, then pour the prepared sauce over it and gently toss to combine.
  1. Coat washed gwari gochu with flour using a plastic bag.
  2. Mix the required ingredients to prepare the sauce.
  3. Place the gochu and 1 tablespoon of water in a microwave-safe dish and steam for 3 minutes.
  4. Let it cool slightly, then add the sauce and toss gently.

Cooking tips 💡

  • The prepared sauce can also be used as a dipping sauce for grilled gim (seaweed).
  • Do not apply the sauce immediately after microwaving—let it cool slightly to preserve the texture of the gochu and prevent the coating from falling off.
