Okjubu's Emotional Egg Custard

Ingredients needed 🛒4 servings
- eggs 10
- tuna sauce 1 tablespoon
- seasoning salt a little
- onion 1/4
- carrot a little
- green onion a little
- crab stick (ham) 2~3 pieces
- cocktail shrimp appropriate amount
- water 2 cups
- sesame oil a little
Recipe 🍳
- Crack 10 eggs into a bowl and mix well.
- Add 1 tablespoon of tuna sauce and a little seasoning salt to adjust the taste.
- Mix in finely chopped onion, carrot, green onion, and 2 cups of water into the egg mixture until well combined.
- Carefully coat the inside of the steaming container with sesame oil.
- Pour the prepared egg mixture into the container, tear the crab sticks into pieces, distribute evenly, then place in the steamer and begin steaming.
- After about 5 minutes, when the surface of the egg custard is slightly set, add shrimp as topping, cover the lid, and steam for an additional 20 minutes until fully cooked through.
- Whisk the eggs and season with tuna sauce and a little seasoning salt.
- Add chopped vegetables and water to complete the egg mixture.
- Pour the egg mixture and torn crab sticks into a sesame-oil-coated steamer dish and steam.
- After 5 minutes, when the surface is slightly set, add shrimp as topping.
- Cover the lid and steam for another 20 minutes until fully cooked.

- Coating the inside of the bowl with sesame oil prevents the egg custard from sticking, making it easy to remove or slice cleanly after cooking.
- For a firm yet moist texture throughout, it’s best to steam for at least 25 minutes rather than just 15.
