Okjubu's Sundae Spam Jjigae

Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings

  • sundae 1 pack
  • spam 1 can
  • onion 1/2
  • green onion 1/2
  • green chili pepper 1
  • egg 1
  • gallbladder bone broth 500ml
  • red chili powder 2 tablespoons
  • minced garlic 1 tablespoon
  • soy sauce 1 tablespoon
  • sugar 0.5 tablespoon
  • sesame oil 1 tablespoon

Recipe 🍳

  1. Cut the onion, green onion, and green chili pepper into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Remove the spam from the can and briefly rinse under hot water, then dice into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a bowl, mix red chili powder, minced garlic, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil to make the seasoning paste.
  4. Arrange the prepared vegetables, spam, and sundae neatly in a clay pot.
  5. Pour the seasoning paste over the ingredients and add the gallbladder bone broth. Simmer until it starts to bubble.
  6. Once the stew is boiling vigorously, crack the egg into it and bring it to a boil one more time to finish.
  1. Dice the vegetables and spam into appropriate sizes.
  2. Mix the required seasoning ingredients to prepare the sauce.
  3. Add all ingredients, sauce, and broth to the pot and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the egg at the end and boil once more to finish.

  • You can substitute gallbladder bone broth with dried anchovy-kombu broth or water.
  • Rinsing the spam in hot water before use helps reduce oiliness and saltiness.
