Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- Thinly sliced squid 2 cups
- Butter 2 tbsp (about 30g)
- Sugar 1.5 tbsp
- Peanut butter 1 tbsp
- Seasoned salt 1~2 pinches
Recipe 🍳
- Cut the squid into thin, long strips for easy eating.
- Place the prepared squid strips, butter, sugar, peanut butter, and seasoned salt all at once into a pan.
- Over medium-low heat, melt the butter and peanut butter while mixing the squid and seasonings well.
- When the moisture from the squid and the seasonings start to bubble and reduce, stir continuously to prevent burning.
- Cook until the liquid has completely evaporated and the squid becomes sticky and coated, turning a brownish color, then remove from heat.
- Thinly slice the squid and place in a pan.
- Add butter, sugar, peanut butter, and seasoned salt, then toss over low heat.
- Simmer until the liquid is completely gone and the squid is coated.
Cooking tips 💡
- Use smooth creamy peanut butter rather than crunchy type for an even coating without lumps on the squid.
- Cooking over high heat will quickly burn the sugar and peanut butter, so it's important to simmer over gentle heat while stirring.
- For a chewier texture, use semi-dried squid instead of fresh squid.
