Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- Romaine lettuce 1 head
- Grilled chicken 1 piece
- Freeze-dried strawberries, a handful
- Parmesan cheese, as needed
- Mayonnaise 4 tablespoons
- Dijon mustard 1 teaspoon
- Garlic 1 clove
- Lime 1 piece
- Anchovy fillets 4 pieces
- Olive oil 2 tablespoons
- Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon
- Green onion, a little
- Pepper, to taste
Recipe 🍳
- Mince the garlic very finely until no particles are visible. Finely mince the anchovy fillets into a paste.
- In a bowl, mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Gradually add the minced anchovy, anchovy oil from the can, and olive oil, mixing gently to prevent separation until smooth.
- Add finely minced garlic, lime zest and juice, Worcestershire sauce, and chopped green onions. Mix to create a slightly thin, pourable Caesar dressing.
- Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly and dry it completely. Cut it vertically into 4 wedges and arrange them on a plate, creating volume.
- Generously drizzle the dressing over the romaine lettuce, ensuring it penetrates between the leaves.
- Roughly crush the freeze-dried strawberries by hand and sprinkle them evenly over the dressing, allowing them to absorb the dressing.
- Top with sliced grilled chicken and a light sprinkle of pepper.
- Using a vegetable peeler or grater, shave thin pieces of Parmesan cheese block over the salad to finish.
- Mix mayonnaise, mustard, minced anchovy, and oil. Add garlic, lime juice, and Worcestershire sauce to make the dressing.
- Cut romaine lettuce lengthwise and arrange on a plate. Drizzle generously with Caesar dressing.
- Top with crushed freeze-dried strawberries and sliced grilled chicken.
- Shave Parmesan cheese over the top and sprinkle with pepper to finish.
Cooking tips 💡
- Make the dressing slightly thinner than a typical Caesar dressing. This allows it to penetrate the layers of whole-cut romaine lettuce better, preventing it from sliding off.
- Instead of the crunch of croutons, the tartness and texture of freeze-dried strawberries are key to this dish's unique appeal.
- Roughly chopped garlic can result in an overpowering garlic flavor in the sauce. Although it takes more effort, mince the garlic finely for a balanced taste.
