Blanch the sausages in hot water for 3 minutes to remove impurities and excess fat, then skewer them firmly.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/2 cup glutinous rice flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 2 tablespoons cooking oil, and stir gently.
Pour in 1/4 cup hot water and stir lightly with a spoon until the dough comes together into a lump.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds. Remove, knead the dough, then re-cover and microwave for another 30 seconds until fully cooked.
Let the glutinous rice dough cool briefly until it's easy to handle, then flatten it thinly and wrap it tightly around the entire sausage, including the tip.
Heat a generous amount of oil in a small pan. The oil is ready when a small piece of dough rises to the surface within 5 seconds.
Reduce the heat to low and fry the hot dog, turning it, until the outside is crispy and golden brown.
Drain excess oil thoroughly, then generously sprinkle sugar on top to finish, according to taste.

Blanch sausages, skewer them, and mix glutinous rice flour with seasonings and hot water to make dough.
Microwave the dough in batches until cooked, then wrap it thinly around the sausages.
Fry in preheated oil over low heat until golden brown, then coat evenly with sugar.

Cooking tips

If the ratio of glutinous rice flour to water is too high, the dough will become too wet and hard to shape, so measure the water accurately.
If the oil temperature is too high, the outside will burn easily. Once the dough floats, immediately reduce to low heat and cook gently.
If deep-frying is too much trouble, lightly brush the outside with oil and bake in an air fryer at 180°C for 10 minutes.
