Ingredients needed 🛒1 servings
- 3 sausages
- 2 potatoes
- 1 onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 slices butter
- A little heavy cream
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp beef stock
- 1 tsp starch powder
- A little olive oil
- A little salt
- A little pepper
Recipe 🍳
- To reduce cooking time, slice the potatoes as thinly and finely as possible and boil them in water for about 10 minutes until very soft.
- Thinly slice the garlic and julienne the onion as finely as your hand allows to shorten cooking time.
- After boiling, completely drain the potatoes and let them sit for a moment until the steam slightly dissipates.
- Mash the drained potatoes finely with a tool, then add 3 slices of butter, salt, pepper, and heavy cream. Mix well until it reaches your desired consistency to make mashed potatoes.
- Heat olive oil in a pan, add the julienned onion, sliced garlic, and sausages. Stir-fry over high heat until the onions become translucent and the sausages are golden brown.
- In a separate small bowl, combine 1 cup of water, 1 tbsp of beef stock, and 1 tsp of starch powder. Whisk thoroughly to dissolve any lumps before preparing the sauce.
- Once the onions are sufficiently cooked, pour the prepared sauce into the pan. Stir and simmer until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
- To serve, artfully arrange the mashed potatoes on a white plate, place the cooked sausages on top, and generously ladle the rich onion gravy over everything.
- Boil thinly sliced potatoes, drain, and mash them with butter and cream until smooth.
- Sauté onion, garlic, and sausage in a pan, then add beef stock and starch mixture and simmer.
- Plate the potatoes and sausage attractively, then drizzle with the finished onion sauce.
Cooking tips 💡
- Slicing the potatoes as thinly and finely as possible and boiling them can significantly reduce the cooking time to under 10 minutes.
- Do not add starch powder directly to the sauce pan, as it will clump. Always dissolve it in water in a separate bowl first before adding it to the pan to avoid failure.
- The finished sauce has a deep brown color. Serving it on a white plate, rather than a brown one, creates a visual contrast that makes the dish stand out.
