Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- 6-7 eggs
- 1 bag of potato chips
- a pinch of pepper
- olive oil as needed
Recipe 🍳
- Crack 6-7 eggs into a large bowl and whisk until well beaten.
- Crush a bag of potato chips roughly and add to the beaten eggs, then mix in a pinch of pepper.
- Let it sit for about 10 minutes so the potato chips absorb the moisture from the egg mixture and become soft.
- Heat a pan and drizzle generously with olive oil, then pour in the egg mixture.
- Stir lightly as if scrambling to evenly distribute the ingredients, and cook until the bottom is golden brown.
- Place a large plate or pot lid over the pan and flip it quickly to transfer the egg onto the plate.
- Slide the frittata back into the pan and cook the other side until just set.
- Add crushed potato chips and pepper to beaten eggs, and let soak for 10 minutes.
- Pour the egg mixture into an oiled pan, stir lightly, and cook until the bottom is golden.
- Flip using a plate, then cook the other side briefly.
Cooking tips 💡
- Store-bought potato chips are already seasoned with salt, so you don't need to add salt to the eggs.
- Rather than cooking until completely firm, leaving the center slightly moist makes it much softer and more flavorful.
- The finished frittata goes well with ketchup or chogochujang (a sweet and sour Korean chili paste) according to your taste.
- You can use the same method with various snacks like squid peanuts, dried pollack snacks, or banana puffs to create unique desserts or snacks.
