Ingredients needed 🛒2 servings
- sweet potato 3~4 pieces
- sugar 5 tablespoons
- water 1/2 cup
Recipe 🍳
- Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly under running water, trim off both ends, and cut into large bite-sized pieces.
- Arrange the prepared sweet potatoes in a pan without overlapping, then evenly sprinkle with water and sugar.
- Cover the pan and simmer over medium heat until the sweet potatoes are fully cooked and all moisture has evaporated.
- Prepare a flat tray or baking sheet by generously spreading sugar on it.
- Remove the cooked sweet potatoes and roll them on the sugar-covered surface to coat the outer layer thoroughly.
- Return the sugared sweet potatoes to the pan and cook over low heat until the sugar melts and forms a clear, firm coating.
- Turn off the heat when tapping the surface with a fork produces a crisp, stick-like sound, let cool slightly, and serve.
- Wash the sweet potatoes and cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Place sweet potatoes, water, and sugar in a pan, cover, and cook until done.
- Roll the cooked sweet potatoes in sugar to coat the outside.
- Return to the pan and cook over low heat until the sugar becomes transparent and crisp.
- Cool slightly and enjoy while crisp.
Cooking tips 💡
- When applying the final sugar coating, use low heat only—high heat can easily burn the sugar.
- After finishing, spread the pats out on a wide tray to cool so they don’t stick together; this keeps the surface from being sticky and ensures crispiness.
